With the President of the vending zone

Our experience with the Gajalaxmi vending zone was quite remarkable as well as exciting. Although it was same as any other vending zone in terms of customers and stalls, but what we went through during our stay there is something that we will remember forever. The vendors there were divided in two major groups on the basis of the political motives in that zone. Our presence somehow created some sort of disagreement between them and there were a lot of arguments. We too didn't get good responses at the beginning. People were suspicious. But later on we were able to get along with them well.

The visit to Ram Mandir was a revering experience as being close to'The  Ram Mandir' there were a lot of florists. Also there were a lot of Book shops, a one stop for all bibliophiles. There were many eateries, newspaper shops, mobile repair centre and motor repair center.
This VZ was bigger and had 78 shops in all. Few shopkeepers were doubtful when we questoned them but overall the response was good.

It was a usual evening and we had geared up for our vending project. So we went and visited Maa VZ. After giving a cursory look we observed that maximum shops were 'Paan' shops and tea stalls. There were gift shops and some stationery shops even. It was good to find a motor repairing shop and saloon along with a mobile repairing shop. What amazed was that the person repairing in the mobile shop had ITI Diploma. There was also a florist among them.
That evening when we found a mix of different services being provided in the same vending zone, that catered to varying needs of the customer at the same place. Such variety beats the variety of the Malls.

People were very cooperative and none had their own house or land in Bhubhaneshwar. After interacting with these people we came came back satisfied carrying the warmth with which they had responded to our queries.
